What is BIG CITY little italy?

Our film is BIG CITY Little Italy. This is the story of two brothers in search of the Italian traditions, heritage, and “la famiglia” of the past. For this documentary, the focus is on several Little Italy’s across the United States including: Wilmington, New York (Arthur Avenue/Manhattan), Philadelphia, Providence, Cleveland, San Diego, and San Francisco. The film tells the stories of those who founded, built, and preserved Italian culture, food, and traditions in each Little Italy.
Italian-Americans are proud people, however, their identity through Little Italy’s across the United States is waning. With this film, we intend to:- Drive renewed interest about these “little” communities- Engage Italian-American and political leadership to consider greater funding/support to maintain/grow each Little Italy - Protect/preserve the legacy/history of each destination- Highlight and feature what makes each Little Italy unique and proud
